I lately came across the beautiful women’s trench coat by Jack Wills and was inspired to write this post. Jack Wills offers stylish coats in nude and pastel colors, and even though it’s a luxurious high-street fashion brand the coats are reasonably priced. Their collection inspired me to share how I wore my trench coat while traveling while still managing to look different each time. This guide will definitely convince you to pack a trench coat on your next trip.
My camel trench coat is highly versatile and therefore it was easy to style it to perfection. When I was living in London and traveling, my trench coat was definitely a key item in my wardrobe/suitcase (most of my clothes are back at my parent’s home and while traveling your wardrobe is always limited). Luckily, I wore my coat and styled it in different ways so that it didn’t look like I had limited choices. That’s why I would highly recommend you do pack your trench coat for your next trip.
But, how should you style it? Without further due…
THESE ARE 6 WAYS TO STYLE YOUR TRENCH COAT WHILE TRAVELING:
1. With an oversize scarf:
As you can see from the photos below, an oversize scarf somehow over shines the coat so that the focus is not on the coat anymore, but on the scarf. This is especially good while traveling because that way it doesn’t look like you’re repeating your outfits and living out of a suitcase. Just put on a scarf, and it looks like a total different outfit.
2. With a T-shirt:
This might seem like an unusual choice for some, but I’m all about unusual choices. When traveling, it is important to pack light. Therefore, when your choice is limited pairing together items that normally don’t go together is a fair game. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Why not wearing a classic trench coat with a T-shirt? if it looks good, I’m wearing it!
3. With a designer bag:
I’m not wary to travel with a designer bag. I usually don’t stay in hostels, only in private rooms in hotels. So bringing a valuable item with me is definitely something I would do (with caution, of course). When you wear a designer bag it upgrades your entire look and it goes perfectly with a trench coat.
4. With a casual outfit:
As explained earlier, wearing a trench coat with a casual outfit is a DO. So, you can upgrade your overall look with a trench coat. Guaranteed, you will look stylish.
5. With high-knee boots:
I love to look stylish while traveling. To me, the perfect combination of stylish and classy, is high-knee boots. It is hard to deny how good high boots look with a trench coat.
6. On its own
Sometimes there is no need to add accessories when the coat can actually stand on its own. When I traveled to Budapest, I simply wore my coat above many layers on clothing. My underneath clothing were not showing, as I closed the coat due to how cold it was. My look was still nice since the coat does look good on its own. As they say, too many cooks spoil the broth.
